RAISING FUNDS FOR 2008 OPERATING EXPENSES
The 2008 Virginia Beach gathering committee has 4 wonderful items up for raffle prior to the gathering. Due to unexpected operating expenses, last year's committee had very little money to pass on to us. Raffle proceeds will go directly to operating expenses so we can make 2008's "A Walk on the Beach" a good time for everyone, and also allow us to pass forward a goodly sum for next year's gathering.
Our host hotel, The Holiday Inn Sunspree Resort on the Virginia Beach oceanfront, has kindly donated gift certificates for a 2-night stay in the hotel and $50 for you to spend at their premier restaurant, The Isle of Capri. The 2-Night stay at the hotel may be used during the gathering or up to a year afterwards. Exceptions are the summer season and holidays.
We have 2 one-day tickets to Busch Gardens Williamsburg, compliments of Cox Communications and Rick Eastman. The tickets, a $65.00 value, are good until October 26, 2008 which includes the weekend of the Gathering.
Helena Pimentel and her mother, Maria Baptista, have stitched together a beautiful ocean theme Quilt. (pictures coming soon) The gathering committee contributed to their efforts either monetarily or by embroidering squares for the back of the quilt. It was a true labor of love that we hope you'll want to own. The quilt is approximately 60" X 54" and would be perfect as either a nice decorative throw or very impressive wall hanging.

Raffle tickets are $3.00 each or five for $10.00. You have three options from which to choose to buy your raffle ticket(s).
1 - Print the tickets, cut out the number you wish to submit, fill them out and mail with your check to:

2 - Print the tickets, cut out the number you wish to submit, fill them out and fax to Naomi Katz at 305-402-7730, then go to the FBCL website, click on "Donate", scroll down and click on the PayPal icon to go to PayPal's "Friends of the Breast Cancer List" page. Enter the dollar amount where indicated, and then click on "special instructions" (bottom left) to write in the pertinent item or items.

Buying a raffle ticket or tickets for the breast cancer list gathering will be equivalent to making a directed donation. Donations to FBCL are tax deductible in the United States.
The drawing will take place on September 24, 2008, one month prior to the Virginia Beach gathering. Winners will be notified by email within a week of the drawing. If you won't be in attendance at the 2008 gathering, the item(s) will be mailed to you.
